MOLINE — Betty Neal, 94, of East Moline, died Tuesday, December 19, 2017, at Trinity Rock Island.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., with a visitation one hour prior to the service, on Thursday, December 21, 2017, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Ave., Moline. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery, Moline. Memorials may be made to Salem Lutheran Church.
Betty was born on September 5, 1923, in Freeport, Illinois, the daughter of Earl and Amy Miller Cantril. She married David Neal on May 21, 1944, and he preceded her in death on June 28, 1997. She worked as a secretary for Moline Body Company for 30 years, retiring in 1982.
Betty was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Moline since 1956. She graduated from Moline High School in 1941. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary Moline Eagles from 1941-1991 and was a member of the Order of Eastern Star until January 2004. Betty enjoyed bowling and was on several leagues, including Hit & Miss, Hi-Lo, Tri-Nite Mixed League and was the president of Town & Country.
Survivors include her grandchildren, Jackie (Doug) Barber, Alan (Jennifer) Beard, Amy (Ken) Bancroft, her great-grandchildren, Amber Nolin, Crystal Davis, Nicole Davis, Matthew Beard, Paige Barber, Gavin Barber; and her great-great-grandchildren, Brendan Schmitt and Jalynn Schmitt.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David; her daughter, Diana Beard; and two brothers, Donald and Earl Jr. Cantril.
