Joanne Dalton Scott, 81, died on Friday December 29, 2017 at Premier Nursing Home in Jacksonville, NC. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday at Blue Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Terry Hinson and Ernie Lee officiating. Burial will follow at Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery. Mrs. Scott was preceded in death by her husband, Norvel "Scotty" Scott Sr.; one son, Norvel "Buddy" Scott Jr.; one son-n-law, Stevie Silance; her parents, Andrew Jackson Dalton and Lulu Hardy Dalton; one sister, Dorothy Dalton Bodner; and one great-granddaughter, Summer Gene King. She is survived by her three daughters; Dixie Scott Foy (Randy) of Trenton, Rena Scott Bolster (Ray) of Jacksonville and Kimberly Scott Silance of Maple Hill; one sister, Jacqueline Rupp of Clearwater, FL, ten grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. She was a faithful servant of God, serving at Blue Creek Baptist Church. Joanne and Scotty were happily married for 58 wonderful years. She will be greatly missed by family and friends. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 - 8 PM at Jones Funeral Home, Jacksonville Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice Center, 2507 North Marine Blvd., Jacksonville, NC 28546.
