Son of Benjamin & Elizabeth (Hammond) Simmons. It is unknown whether they immigrated as well. He immigrated between 1855-1870, but based on the 1910 census which was reported by him, 1855 would be closer. I did not find a definitive passenger list, or information for his parents, so I think he may have left England around 16 years old, possibly with a brother, and spent some time in New York.

Marriage to Alisha Cora “Anna” Boddy in South Branch, Michigan on 22 Jan 1898.

Benjamin’s records are all over the place. I have his birth between 1839-Mar 1850. I believe he fudged the year, as his wife in 1900 was much younger than him. That census also appears to have his wife’s ex-husband living with them, or he was her deceased sister’s husband, and they both had married Curler’s (VanCuyler).

On the 1910 census, Benjamin was alone, but listed as married. I was unable to find Anna Boddy to link them.

Marriage to Rosanna (Graham) Angle in South Branch, Michigan on 19 Dec 1916. He would die 10 months later.

• The only definitive records found were the 1898 marriage, 1900 & 1910 censuses, the 1916 marriage, and his death records.
