Actor. Born Donnelly Rhodes Henry, he was a character actor known for his performances in both film and television during a career that span seven decades. His best known roles were of 'Dutch Leitner', the hapless escaped convict on the 1970s ABC sitcom "Soap" and 'Sgt. Nick Raitt' on the 1970s CBC series "Sidestreet". Before turning to acting, he trained to be a warden in the National Park Service in Manitoba and served in the Royal Canadian Air Force as an airman-mechanic. He later studied at the Manitoba Theatre Center and was a member of the first graduating class of the National Theatre School in Canada. His first acting role came in the 1956 film "Reprisal!". He would go on to perform in numerous films during his career with such credits as "Gunfight in Abilene" (1967), "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid" (1969), "The Neptune Factor" (1973), "Glory Days" (1976), "Oh Heavenly Dog" (1980), "Showdown at Williams Creek" (1991), "Urban Safari" (1996), "Snow Dogs" (2002), and "TRON: Legacy" (2010). His first television role came in 1960 on the television series "Man with a Camera". Besides "Soap" and Sidestreet", he would go on to perform in many television series both in the United States and Canada during his career with such credits as "Maverick", "Bonanza", "Mister Ed", "Dr. Kildare", "Laredo", "Mannix", "The Wild Wild West", "Mission: Impossible", "Marcus Welby M.D.", "Insight", "Wonder Woman", "Report to Murphy", "Hill Street Blues", "Double Trouble", "Danger Bay", "The Heights", "Street Legal", "Murder, She Wrote", "The X-Files", "The Young and the Restless", "Hope Island", "The Dead Zone", "Da Vinci's Inquest", "Psych", "Battlestar Galactica", "Supernatural", and "The Flash". He was nominated several times for the Gemini Award (the Canadian equivalent of the American Emmy Award) and won the 2002 Gemini for his work in "Da Vinci's Inquest". He also earned a lifetime achievement Gemini Award in 2006. He passed away after a battle with cancer.
