U.S., New England Marriages Prior to 1700, Abraham Brown ( -1733) and Elizabeth Shepherd, 15 June 1675, Salisbury.
Searching ancestry.com I have located a millennium file that indicates her birth year was 1654, and death year was 1733.
Elizabeth's ancestry seems unclear, but there are several relevant sources. Was it Dr Thomas L Wilton who added this to ancestry.com on 20 May 2010?:
Hoyt (Old Families of Salisbury and Amesbury), p 316, observed that Elizabeth may have been the sister of Samuel of Haverhill and Salisbury (d.1707) (who m. Mary (Page) Dow, dau. of John Page). See NEHGS 155 (2001): 215-216, by J C Brandon; Dean C Smith's &;The Ancestry of Samuel Blanchard Ordway,; pp 365-373 (NEHGS CS71 O66 1990); D L Jacobus, ed.; The Shepard Families of New England; 3 v., 1971-1973; M L Sanborn's; Third Torrey Supplement; p 233; Torrey, pp 667-8.
Elizabeth and Samuel may have been among the children of William Shepard of Taunton, Ma, (d. after Mar 1663/4), but not the William Shepard of New England named in the 1643 will of John Shepard of Towcester, Northamptonshire; that William died on 4 Dec 1653.
Among the children of William of Taunton were sons named Samuel and John and a daughter named Elizabeth; (Brandon, op.cit., pp 215-216. See also online (http://www.jimsancestry.net/Shepherd.htm) a summary of William of Taunton's five children (and descent from his son John).
FAG contributor steadfastdave (#48538811) has indicated the birth year was 1653, and the date of death was Feb 16, 1733. I was unable to located a source to verify this information, and requested it from the FAG contributor. The information I received was someone's family tree, and no source was indicated. I have requested the source again, and this memorial will be updated when I receive it.
