Clearwater - Andrew B. Konitzer, Sr., age 95, of Clearwater, FL, died peacefully Monday afternoon January 1, 2018 at Bay Pines VA Hospital, St. Petersburg, FL.

Andrew was born November 19, 1922 in Oconto Falls, son of the late Andrew and Jane (Berton) Konitzer. He grew up in Oconto Falls one of 16 children. He married the former Alice Bieker on February 10, 1945 in Bremerton, Washington. He worked at Hamilton Industries for many years before moving to Clearwater, FL in the late 1970's. He served his country as an Army Sergeant in the 63rd Anti-Aircraft Artillery Gun Battalion from 1942-1946, stationed in Seattle, Washington, which secured the Boeing Aircraft Plant, camouflaged from enemy detection. He followed with a tour in Okinawa, Japan and when honorably discharged, moved to Two Rivers to raise his family. He was a member of St. Catherine's Church, Clearwater, FL.

Survivors include 3 daughters: Sue (Dan) McKenna, Surprise, AZ; Debbie (Dan) Kleckner, Mishicot; & Mary (Larry) Brisco, Trinity, TX; 6 sons: Richard (Mary Lee) Konitzer, Apache Junction, AZ; Gene (Phyllis) Konitzer, Sun City Center, FL; Andrew (Joan) Konitzer, Jr.; Jim (Linda Justema) Konitzer, both of Manitowoc; Michael Konitzer, Mishicot; and David (Linda) Konitzer, Two Rivers; Andrew's special friend: Hazel Collins, Cecil, WI; 2 sisters: Magdaline Tisch and Agnes Bridger, Oconto Falls, WI; and one brother: Edward (Lillian) Konitzer, Bonduel, WI; 25 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Alice (1996), two sons, Steven and Baby Joseph, 6 sisters and 6 brothers.

Andrew loved attending the annual Konitzer reunion in Oconto Falls, WI where hundreds would attend. He loved listening to old time country music, playing shuffleboard, riding his 3-wheel bicycle and enjoyed his many friends at Donovan's mobile home park. He was also proud his first grandchild, Trudy and his first great-great grandchild, Sahnya shared his birthday.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 am, Saturday, February 3, 2018, at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, Two Rivers. Rev. Tom Reynebeau will officiate. Burial with military honors will be held on a later date at Holy Cross Cemetery, Two Rivers.
