BRISTOL, Va. Marie Gill, age 76, passed away on Thursday, January 11, 2018, at Bristol Regional Medical Center. Marie prided herself as being a homemaker by being a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Her fondest memories were walking with Carl on the beach, and spending beach vacations with children and grandchildren. Marie was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Carl, who passed away in June 2017. She is survived by her son, Greg Gill and Leah of Bristol, Va.; daughters, Sharon Gill and Teresa McClellan, both of Bristol, Va.; sisters, Euna Lee Smith of Bristol, Va., and Audrey Counts of Glade Spring, Va.; grandchildren, Lauren Leulu and husband, Aaron of Fairfax, Va. and Jessica Salyer and husband,Michael of Blountville, Tn.; and great granddaughter, Mahala Salyer. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, January 16, 2018, at The Forest Hills Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Pastor Charles Brooks officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memory Gardens. Casket bearers will be Gilmer Smith, Jr., John Smith, Aaron Leulu, Michael Salyer, Michael Coates, and Treyton Coates. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service at the funeral chapel.
