Jazz Musician. He will be best remembered for playing with many early jazz greats. He was born as Alvin Aaron in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, to Louis Aaron and his wife Sarah Petter Aaron. The family later settled in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where his father was a musician and bandleader with a theatre band. He was educated locally in elementary school and would later attend the North Division High School in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He became interested in music at a young age and began playing the reeds (a thin strip of material that vibrates to produce a sound on a musical instrument), as a section player in his father's band for over ten years. He then left his father's band and began playing the saxophone with Jack Teagarden And His Orchestra with whom he recorded in 1942. He then moved to Hollywood, California, in 1943, and began playing with Horace Heidt And His Orchestra on the radio. He eventually left Horace Heidt And His Orchestra and began playing with Skinnay Ennis And His Orchestra from 1945 to 1947, before returning to play with Horace Heidt And His Orchestra once again in 1949. He then joined and played with Les Brown And His Band Of Renown and toured Europe and East Asia during the 1950s. He played both the clarinet and the alto sax and then switched to the tenor and baritone while with Les Brown And His Band Of Renown when they recorded music for the Coral Records Label and the Capitol Records Label also in the 1950s. He had played with Les Brown And His Band Of Renown for over ten years. He also played the bass clarinet in the Billy Usselton Sextet (a fellow member of Les Brown And His Band Of Renown), on a Kapp Jazz Recording. His best clarinet and soprano sax solos can also be heard in a tribute album by Les Brown that was dedicated to the memory of clarinetist Sidney Bechet who had passed away on May 14, 1959, on his 62nd birthday. During his musical career, he also played with the Ronny Lang Saxtet. He continued to perform and work in music until his death. He passed away in Los Angeles, California, on November 17, 1970, at the age of 60. Following his death, His funeral services were held through the Groman-Eden Mortuary in Mission Hills, California, and he was buried in Eden Memorial Park in Mission Hills, California. His wife Audrey survived him passing away in Chatsworth, California, on March 5, 2002, at the age of 88, and she is also buried in Eden Memorial Park in Mission Hills, California.
