Goldie Weston Robinson, 68, of the 1500 block of Basie Crescent, died March 28, 1998, in Chesapeake Health Center.

Born in Portsmouth, she was an accounting technician for Norfolk Naval Shipyard and retired after 27 years of service. She was the widow of Bobby Roland Robinson and a member of Zion Baptist Church. Her church activities included the senior choir, Minerva Overton Missionary Circle, and Drop In Center for Feed the Hungry. She was a member of the I.C. Norcom Hall of Fame. Mayor Gloria Webb proclaimed March 5, 1996 as "Goldie Robinson Day."

Survivors include two daughters, Phyllis Alicia Stanton of Washington, D.C., Cheryl Denise Tennessee of Chesapeake; a son, Michael Kenneth Robinson of Portsmouth; two sisters, Ruth Brown of Las Vegas, Nev., Delia Williams of Long Island, N.Y.; four brothers, Leonard Watson of Deer Park, N.Y., Benjamin, Alvin, Leroy Weston, all of Portsmouth; six grandchildren; a great-grandchild; two sons-in-law, Clinton Tennessee of Chesapeake, Dwayne Staton of Washington, D.C.; a daughter-in-law, LaBarbara Robinson of Chesapeake; and a host of other family and friends.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Zion Baptist Church by the Rev. J. Michael Little. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. The family will assemble at 3416 Maori Drive, Chesapeake. Fisher Funeral Home is in charge.
