Lawrence, NJ - Rider University freshman, Gary DeVercelly, Jr. 18, died as a result of a fraternity hazing ritual for pledges during Big/Little night. Enrolled in an MBA program with the goal of becoming a General Manager of a professional baseball team, Gary's dream was cut short. Parents Gary Sr. and Julie DeVercelly, said in a statement that they were struggling with the loss. "It seemed that everywhere he went, Gary touched people and impacted them in a positive way," they wrote. "He was a man you could depend on who had an easygoing manner." Life has been difficult for Gary's family and friends as they try to make sense of this horrible event. Though Gary is no longer with us, his presence is felt everywhere we go. He was from Long Beach, CA and graduated from Wilson Classical High School in 2006.
