Larry retired from Wearbest Sil-Tex Mills after 20 years of service. He worshipped his Lord at Winston-Salem First, an Assembly of God church. He was a former Sunday school teacher and a trustee of an Assembly of God church in New Jersey for many years. Also, he headed up the nursing home ministry for numerous years. He was a Gideon and enjoyed playing golf.
Survivors other than his wife, Carol, include his daughter, Elaine Rogers (Robbie), sons, Charles Ashe (Jane) and George Ashe; step daughters, Carol Ann Schuchert (Gary), Kristen Gauthier (J.B.); 12 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren; sisters, Fay Smith(Roger) and Emma Jean Farrell; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Mary Lambert, Marvin Ashe, Donnie Ashe, Jeanette Kerr, Evelyn Oliphant and Ray Ashe.
The funeral service will be held at 11:45AM Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Elwood Rakes, with the burial to follow in Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:30AM Saturday prior to the service.
