PONTOTOC - Earl "Buddy" Broadway, 84, went to meet his Lord and Savior and to reunite with the love of his life on Wednesday, January 31, 2018, in Tupelo.

Buddy was born on November 1, 1933, to Howard and Maggie Mills Broadway. He was a member of Algoma Baptist Church. As a member of the U.S. Army, Buddy proudly served his country in Germany. Later, he worked for Meadowbrook Dairy and Roadway Express in Memphis.

After retiring and moving to Pontotoc, he and his wife opened Babyland and enjoyed a thriving business. The "job" he took the most pride in was being the sole caretaker of his wife for the last 15 years of her life. His devotion to her was an example of what true love is. Buddy was known for his steadfast Christian faith, his strong work ethic, his love for others and his ability to tell a good story and make people laugh. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He leaves a lasting legacy of love, and he will be dearly missed.

He is survived by his children, Mark Broadway, Brenda Foster(Larry) and Joan Bailey; son-in-law, Doug Stowers; seven grandchildren, Susan Fowlkes(Doyle), Scott Foster(Jill), Jonathan Pope(Shannon), Adam Pope(Lori), Kyle Broadway, Keagin Waugh(Jeremiah) and Conner Broadway; seven great-grandchildren, Michael Scott and Preston Foster, Curt and John Harmon, Jillian, Isabel and Sawyer Pope; one brother Larry Broadway(Bessie); three sisters, Josie Milner, Betty Simmons and Connie Conner(Roy); three sisters in law, Frances Lee, Linda and Jackie Broadway.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Geraldine "Gerry" Broadway; daughters, Carole Stowers and Peggy Norman; infant daughter, Tina Broadway; brothers, Howard Lee, Lonnie, Joe and Jerry Broadway; and sisters, Virginia Stuart, Janie Moore and Margaret Farrow.

Services will be at 2 PM, February 4, 2018 at Algoma Baptist Church. Brother Don Smith and Scott Foster will officiate. Graveside and burial will follow at Williams Cemetery. Baldwin Memorial Funeral Home of Ponotoc is in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers will be Scott Foster, Jonathan Pope, Adam Pope, Kyle Broadway, Conner Broadway, Doyle Fowlkes, Jeremiah Waugh and Doug Stowers. Honorary pallbearers will be the Adult Men's Sunday school class.
