MRS. ANNA GREVER
OF PALMYRA DIES

Well Known Woman
Found Unconscious
in Yard of Her Home
And Expires in Short Time.

Palmyra, Mo., April 28. -- Saturday night at 7 o'clock occurred the death of Anna Grever, the beloved wife of Joseph Grever, who resides on a farm about nine miles east of Palmyra.

She was born in Marion county in 1876, and was 37 years old. Mrs. Grever had been subject to epilepsy for the past ten years, but seemed as well as usual Saturday, and attended to her household duties.

Neighbors saw her in the yard about 5 o'clock, near a large pile of wood, and it was supposed she had gone to gather eggs, as several of her hens had been laying eggs around the wood pile.

About 6 o'clock, her husband came in from the field, where he had been plowing, and called his wife, but she did not answer, so he looked through the house, and around the yard, but failed to find her. He then went down by the Fabius river, which runs through the place, but still found no trace of her.

He then notified the neighbors of his wife's disappearance, and they all joined in the search.

After searching for some time, Mrs. Jones found her lying on her face near the wood pile, which they had passed several times but [had] failed to see her. She was in a semi-conscious condition. They picked her up and carried to the house, and hastily summoned a physician from Maywood, but she passed away before medical aid could reach her.

Mrs. Grever was a devoted member of the German Lutheran church of Hannibal, where she and her husband regularly attended services, as they formerly resided in Hannibal before moving to the farm.

The funeral services will be held in Fabius township Tuesday afternoon. Reverend Whitte, pastor of the German Lutheran church of Hannibal, will conduct the service. The remains will be brought to Palmyra and laid to rest in Greenwood cemetery. The husband has the sympathy of the entire community in his sad bereavement.
