Isaac Coleman (I.C.) Armstrong, Jr. passed peacefully in his home the morning of February 2, 2018 at the age of 90.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Ellen Lemons Armstrong; his parents Isaac Coleman Armstrong and Mary Alice Wysinger Armstrong; and his siblings: Lavinia Murphy, Laura Herring, Lois Bain, Allen Armstrong, Lee Armstrong, Ford Armstrong, and Katherine Anton.
He is survived by his sister, Dollie Snell, his three children: Isaac Coleman Armstrong III (Darlene), Deborah Palmer (Mike), and Janet Lee (Robert); seven grandchildren: Isaac Coleman Armstrong IV (Shelby), David Armstrong (Callie), Jennifer Harper (Tony), Rebecca Keach (Ken), Laura Melsheimer (Nick), Rob Lee (Iliana), and Jonathan Lee; and eight great-grandchildren: Isaac, Anna, Rachel, Joshua, Jenna, Emma, Nicholas, and Hannah.
Mr. Armstrong was born in Ida, Louisiana and served in the Marines before moving to Soddy Daisy, TN in the 1950's. He singlehandedly built the home he and his family lived in for more than 50 years. I.C. retired from TVA as a pipefitter in 1993. He often spoke of the kindness of his coworkers. He and Nancy enjoyed traveling and visited all 50 states. He loved nature and was frequently found reading, watching, and learning about all of God's creation
