"The death of Mrs. Elsie Burns, 47, occurred at her home on Broadway at 2 a.m. today. The body is at the Gordon Funeral Home where it will remain until the hour of the funeral. Services will be held at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon at Olive Branch church northwest of Chillicothe. The Rev. C. E. Sharrah will officiate. Burial will be in Anderson Cemetery.
Mrs. Howe was born in Livingston County on March 8, 1890. Surviving is her husband, Robert Howe, and six children: Mrs. Walter Williams, Ruby, Eunice, Thomas, Burt and Jess Howe. Another son, Robert, died six years ago.
Other survivors are her mother, Mrs. May Burns of Chillicothe; three sisters, Mrs. Bessie Rust, Mrs. Ina Boyd and Mrs. Ruth Bethands of Chillicothe; and brothers Bolen Burns of this city, Lloyd and Elmer Burns of Colorado and Harry Burns of Washington."
