AGE 89 YEARS
UNITED STATES ARMY VETERAN
Raymond R. Remener, of Montoursville, passed away Feb. 9, 2018, at Valley View Nursing Center. He was born June 18, 1928, in Freeland, the son of the late Ignatius A. and Mary (Martinchek) Remener.
Ray and his wife, the former, Rita E. Pallaver, celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary on May 15, 2017. He was a graduate of Millville High School and the former Williamsport Technical Institute. He retired as a foreman from the former GTE Sylvania in Montoursville after 31 years of service.
A U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, he was awarded the Korean service medal with three bronze stars, the United Nations service medal, the National Defense service medal Good Conduct medal, and Army Occupation medal (Japan).
He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and the American Legion in Nuremberg, Pa.
Preceding him in death were a brother, Edwin and sisters, Mary Remener, Veronica Petro and Ann Casey.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a daughter, Paula M. Medinger, of Downingtown; a brother, Lawrence Remener, of Woodbridge, Va.; three sisters, Agnes Serra, of Upperco, Md., Jane (Raymond) Haladay, of Buckhorn, and Joan Andreas, of Reading; and two grandchildren, Ryan A. Medinger and Lauren (Sawyer) Medinger-Streck.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church
100 Walnut St., Montoursville
Rev. Michael S. McCormick as celebrant.
Burial will follow in New Rosemont Cemetery in Columbia Co.
