Obituary
Don was born January 6, 1928, in Duenweg, Missouri to William and Lena Endicott. Don had one sister, Geraldine, and two brothers, Bill, and Merle. Both brothers served in the Navy during World War II. Bill survived the bombing of Pearl Harbor. Don joined the Navy in 1945, serving aboard the Battleship U.S.S Iowa which relieved the U.S.S Missouri in Tokyo Bay and became the Flagship for the occupation of Japan at the end of the war.

Don was discharged in December of 1948. He and his high school and Navy buddy, Al Black, enrolled at the University of Arkansas in September of 1949. Don received his degree in Transportation in 1953.

He joined his brother, Bill, who lived in Kansas City, who worked for TWA Airlines. Don landed a job with B.C. Christopher Brokerage Co. due to his interest in transportation. He jumped at the opportunity to go to work for the Santa Fe Railway in Chanute, Kansas in September of 1954. He was promoted to Tulsa in the fall of 1955. In 1962 Don left the Santa Fe Railway to become Chief Clerk for the Chicago Northwestern Railway. A year later he became assistant traffic manager for Dewey Portland Cement Company in Tulsa. A year later he was promoted to traffic manager, a position he held until his retirement in 1990.

During his working career, he enjoyed lasting relationships with Dale Fuzzell, Jim Benson, Paul Reed, Stuart Droms, Tom Hoffman, and Gerry Warren. Another strong relationship existed with Al Black and daughter Debbie, who lives in Reno, Nevada.

In 1951 Don met Glenda Post at a night club in Joplin, Missouri. They were married the following year and went on to have 57 years together. Glenda passed away in 2013 of dementia with Don being her caregiver for several years.

In 1980 Don and Glenda built a home on Grand Lake where they enjoyed many weekends with family and friends. Glenda was an avid fisherman.

He enjoyed watching sports but was especially an avid Arkansas Razorback fan, as well as a St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan. Don also enjoyed servicing his community, spending many years as a devoted volunteer for the "Meals on Wheels" program.

Don was a genuine, caring and compassionate individual who left lifelong impressions and relationships with those he met.

Those who went on before him are his parents, William and Lena Endicott; wife, Glenda Endicott; daughters, Nelda Johnson and Brenda Taie; great-grandchild, Annie Hough; brothers, Bill Endicott and Merle Endicott; and sister Geraldine Endicott.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his grandchildren, Walter Hough IV and wife Dawn, and Jeff Endicott; nephews, Mike Endicott and wife Marva, Doug Endicott, Matt Endicott, Drew Endicott and wife Kristen; son-in-law and lifelong friend, Walter Hough III and wife Janice, and their son Matt.
