Dora was born on July 9, 1925 in Cologne, Germany. She and her younger siblings Klara, Norbert and Berta were German Jewish refugee children that lived in an orphanage for Jewish children in Den Haag, Netherlands. On March 6, 1943, the Nazis shut down the orphanage and abducted every child and staff member. Most were sent to Sobibor and murdered upon arrival. Dora and her younger sisters were killed at Sobibor on July 23, 1943. Norbert was sent to Auschwitz and killed the next year. Dora had just turned 18 a few weeks before she died.
