A FRAUDULENT WILL.
A SUIT TO SET ASIDE AN ALLEGED BOGUS.
The people of the state of California, by Attorney-General Fitzgerald, yesterday filed with the county clerk a contest in the matter of the estate of Catalina Reynolds, who died in this county on the 17th of February, 1895, leaving property to the value of $5,000. The deceased died at the residence of Bersabe D. de Fay, and shortly after her demise a document purporting to be the last will and testament of Catalina Reynolds was filed by the said Bersabe D. de Fay with the county clerk for probate. It is now contended by the state that the alleged will was fraudulent, that it was never made by the said Catalina Reynolds and that even if it was signed by the said Reynolds it was invalid for the reason that deceased was of unsound mind. It is further contended that the said will was got up by the said Bersabe de Fay with the connivance of F. H. Dominguez and Atilla [sic, Otilia] Mason, who signed the same as witnesses, for the purpose of securing the property of the deceased. So far as known Catalina Reynolds has no blood relations, and if the will is set aside as fraudulent the property escheats to the state.
