Mrs. Harriett Sheets passed away in the fullness of her years at 5 o'clock this morning, at her home at 307 East Second street. The cause of her death was cancer of the stomach, and she had been a sufferer for some time.
Mrs. Sheets was born in Germany, on February 14, 1828, so that she would have been seventy-one had she lived but a short time longer.
Her marriage took place in Germany and she came to this city in 1852. Her husband, Martin Sheets, died thirty-four years ago. she leaves one daughter, Mrs. Katherine Jones, and three sons, John, Daniel and Henry, to mourn her loss. She was a woman loved and respected by all her friends, a good mother and a consistent Christian, having been a member of the German M.E. church for over forty years.
The funeral services will be held tomorrow, Sunday, in the German M.E. church, at half-past two o'clock. The services will be conducted by the pastor, Rev. W.E. Nocka. Interment will be in Greenlawn cemetery.
