Wellington-Thomas E. Garfield, 62, of RD 2, died at 11:30 p.m. yesterday in Southern Lorain County Hospital. He had been in ill health for several months.
Born in England, March 20, 1904, he had lived in Elyria and moved to Wellington 20 years ago. He had been employed at the Ohio Screw Products in Elyria and the Cleveland Steel Co., in Wellington prior to farming.
Mr. Garfield was a member of the Welling Grange.
Surviving are his wife, Lillian; two sons, Dennis, Wellington, and Thomas Jr., at home; two daughters, Mrs. Jean Harpolc in Germany and Mrs. Doris Takacs, Brighton; three grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Margaret Tucker in Canada.
The funeral service will be Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Curtis Funeral Home. The Rev. Edward Griffith, of the Wellington Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial park.
Friends may call at the funeral home any time after noon tomorrow.
