Giuseppe "Joe" Amodeo 1926 - 2016 NORWICH - Giuseppe "Joe" Amodeo, 89, passed away Tuesday evening, February 23rd, 2016, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Terlizzi Italy on Aug. 24, 1926 to the late Pasquale and Maria (Romano) Amodeo. He married his beloved wife Nicoletta (DeLeo) in Italy on April 11, 1953.

He and his family came to the US, making Norwich their home 1966. While in Italy, Joe was an accountant by profession. In the United States, Joe worked at United Nuclear until his retirement. He also worked at the former JB Martin as a supervisor, and at CT Beverage. Joe loved the game of soccer, and coached the sport for over 25 years with the Norwich P.A.L. soccer league, and at Saint Bernards high school.

While he enjoyed gardening every chance he could, his joy was his family, who he adored and they, in turn, adored him. He is survived by his wife; Nicoletta, daughters; Maria and husband Danny Gorby, Angela and husband Tony Koronkiewicz, son; Pasquale and wife Anne (Clark) Amodeo, one sister; Joanna Grillo, grandchildren; Carolyn, Joseph, Victoria, Alexis, Julia, Pasquale, and Nic, one great-grandson; Dylan, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Francis Amodeo, and two sisters; Frances Grillo and Luigina Quadrello.
