Eileen Ramona (Jackson/Williams) Robinson Pettigrew, was born iDecember 28, 1922 in Wellsville, Ohio to Majella Elva Jackson and Wilson A. Ormes. At age 48, she passed on Saturday, March 20, 1971 in Columbus, Ohio.

Her mother married William Brandon Williams on January 22, 1930 and Elva's children (Eileen, Nevin and Robert) took the last name Williams.

Eileen was legendary musican, Ray Charles (Robinson's) first wife. They married on July 31, 1951, and divorced 6 months later. They had no children.

A licensed beautician, she was the operator of the Vanity Box Beauty Shop on Douglas and later worked at Fashionetta Beauty Shop the pink shop on the corner of Long Street and Washington Avenue in booth #1 until her death.

Eileen married Thomas L. Pettigrew, they also did not have any children.

She was a member of Lee's Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Wellsville.

Preceded in death by her father, Wilson Ormes and step-father, William Williams (123857247).

Eileen is survived by her husband, Thomas Pettigrew; mother, Majella Williams; brothers, Nevin Williamss, Robert Williams; sisters, Marilyn Joyce (Ormes) Harvey, Muriel Joan (Ormes) Kyle; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, hair customers and friends.
