Lorain- Joseph James, 60, of 334 Broadway, a native of Cornwall, England, died yesterday at 5:10 p.m. in St. Joseph Hospital after a weeks illness. He came to Lorain 25 years ago from New York City.
Mr. James retired four years ago from New Departure Division of General Motors at Sandusky, after eight years of service. Previously he had worked for the Cadillac Tank Plant in Cleveland.
A veteran of service with the British Army in World War I., Mr. James later served with the British Merchant Marines.
Surviving are a son, Ronald J. James, Lorain, and a granddaughter.
Friends will be received at the Reidy-Scanlon Funeral Home today from 4 to 10 p.m.
The Rev. Keith A. Smith, pastor of the Braodway Assembly Church will officiate at a funeral service tomorrow at 3 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park.
