Mary Bicknell was born 15 Feb 1801, in East Camden, Lennox and Addington County, Upper Canada (Ontario), British North America, to Nathan and Phoebe (Peters) Bicknell. Her parents came from the USA, where their families share a long history in Colonial America.

 

She married Arthur Campbell in about 1830. The couple farmed and raised their children on Concession III, Lot 21, in Loughborough Township which eventually became Storrington Township. Several Campbell relatives farmed and lived on adjoining properties in the area.

 

Education:

She was able to read and write.

 

Occupation:

Farmer, loving mother, housewife, and homemaker.

 

Mary died in 1871, probably in Storrington Township. She is presumed buried in an unmarked grave next to her husband in Sandhill Cemetery in Battersea, Frontenac, Ontario.
