Nathan Bicknell Sr. was born on 1 Mar 1773, in either Monson, Hampton, Massachusetts, or Woodstock, Windham, Connecticut, British Colonial America, to Japhet and Hannah (Child) Bicknell. He has two birth records, one for each town. Most of his siblings were born in Woodstock. He spent his childhood in Woodstock, Monson, and Rehoboth, Massachusetts.
Nathan married Phoebe Peters on 14 May 1797 in Monson. The couple lived briefly in Schenectady, New York, where his wife grew up, and their first child was born.
In about 1800, Nathan immigrated with his young family to East Camden and Earnestown, Lennox and Addington County, Upper Canada (Ontario), British North America, where they farmed and had several more children. His wife Phoebe died in 1823 in East Camden.
Nathan, age 88, died on 15 Feb 1862 in East Camden. He is buried in Wilton Cemetery, Wilton, Lennox and Addington, Ontario, Canada, presumably next to his wife.
