Indiana State Board of Health Certificate of Birth No. 23549 for Franklin Johnson County records that Chester McClain, white male, was stillborn at 6:45 pm on February 21 1915 in Franklin. His father was Charles I. McClain, white male, age 24y, born in Franklin Indiana, and a laborer. His mother was Ruth Naoma Kelly, white female, age 17y, born in Indiana, and a housewife. The birth was legitimate, and it was her first birth with none alive.

Indiana State Board of Health Certificate of Death No. 354 for Franklin Johnson County records that Chester McClain was stillborn on February 21 1915 on N. Hurricane St. in Franklin. The notation by the attending physician, D.R. Saunders, states "Twin- Lock Head. Stillbirth." He was the son of Charles I. McClain and Naoma Ruth Kelly, both born in Indiana. The informant was his father, Charles, and he was buried at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin Johnson County.
