He was a farmer and a member of the Mt. Union United Methodist Church. Born in Macon County, he was a son of the late Zack and Maggie (Thomas) Alexander Josephene (Dawes) Alexander, who survives. He was preceded in death by his former wives, Gracie Wagoner Alexander and Winnie Fay Cothron Wagoner Alexander; three sisters, Donna Haynes, Lela Johnson and Orean Allen; and a brother, Osby Alexander.
Other than his wife, survivors include four nieces — Opal Hanes, Westmoreland, Tenn.; Janis Prock, Lafayette; June Chandler, Scottsville; and Eudell Griffith, Cincinnati, Ohio.
Burial was at the Anderson and Son Memorial Park.
Serving as pallbearers were Scott and Troy Day, Richard Herrington, Jason and Lowell Hightower and Jack Hanes.
