Funeral services for George Walter, aged 69 years, 9 months and 10 days, were held at 2:30 o'clock from the Deer Park M. E. church, Rev. Barnthouse, United Brethren minister, officiating. Interment was made in the Deer Park cemetery.
He was the son of Silas and Martha Walter and was a blacksmith by occupaton, being employed until recently by the Keeley Construction Co., Clarksburg, contractors.
He is survived by his wife and one small son. and by three sons and four daughters, by his first wife: Russell, Crellin; Fred L., Deer Park; Eugene L., Mansfield, Ohio.; Mrs. Grace Friend, Triadelphia, W. Va., Mrs. G. A. Demoss, Grafton, W. Va.; Mrs. Atwell Pitzer, Fairmont, W. Va.; and Mrs. Paul Jones, Mansfield, Ohio.
He is also survived by six sisters, Mrs. Charles Rhodes, Mrs. Stephen Rhodes and Mrs. George Beckman, North Glade; Mrs. Robert Hamill, Mt. Lake Park; Mrs. Ben Harvey, Mt. Lake Park, and Mrs. Collins, of Kitzmiller, and by one brother, James W. Walter, of Deer Park.
He was widely known to the people of the Deer Park community for his kindly nature, always ready to lend assistance wherever needed and whenever possible to do so.
