Mr. Lewis Trenton Dubel, 98, of Boonsboro, MD passed away Saturday, April 7, 2018 at his home. He was the beloved husband of the late Elsie Dubel and Norma Dubel.

Born March 25, 1920 in Roxbury, MD he was the son of the late Trenton Thomas and Viola (Baker) Dubel.

Lewis was a 1938 graduate of Boonsboro High School. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army in the 25th Division through the South Pacific, the Philipines and the occupation of Japan. He was a Charter member of the Funkstown American Legion and also a member of the Michael Clopper Post, American Legion, Boonsboro and also a member of Church of the Saviour in Rohrersville. Lewis was employed at local dairies and farming and a self employed painter.

He is survived by his daughter Brenda Joyce DeJohn and husband John of Ebensburg, PA; step-children Peggy Burcker, and James Cochran and wife Leslie of Boonsboro and daughter-in-law Bonnie Dubel and husband Bruce; grandchildren Thomas Dubel, Jr.and wife Jill of Reisterstown, Elizabeth Reed of Harrisburg, PA, Carey Reed of Harrisburg, PA, Catherine Gardner and husband Mike of New Milford, CT, Luke DeJohn and wife Kara of Wyomissing, PA, Jamie Cochran of Boonsboro, Norma and Donna Burcker of Boonsboro and six great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his children Thomas T. Dubel, Sr. and Linda Reed; sisters Ima Wise and Ura Dubel.

The family would like to thank Hospice of Washington Co., caregivers; Nurse Debbie, Lori, Michelle, Sharon and Jeannine for their care and compassion.

The family will receive friends at the Bast Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro, on Saturday, April 14, 2018 from 10AM-11:30AM and from 12PM-12:30PM at the Church of the Saviour, 4325 Main St., Rohrersville, MD 21779 where a funeral service will begin at 12:30PM. Pastor Duke Jeffries will officiate.

Interment will follow at Boonsboro Cemetery.
