She was the beloved daughter of the late Florence and Sylvester Lala. She was the loving wife of the late John “Tockie” Mutrie Jr.
Carrie married the love of her life in November 1954 and they had five children.
She is the devoted mother of Sharon M. Harris and husband Clay, Brad Mutrie, Karen Mutrie, the late John “Johnny” Mutrie III, and Bruce Mutrie. She is the loving grandmother of Matthew Harris, Nicholas Harris, John E. Mutrie IV, Eric Mutrie, and Alex Mutrie. She is the adoring great-grandmother of Kaleb Harris, Reese and Jax Mutrie, Harlee and Kirstin Mutrie and Addison Mutrie and Beau Mutrie. She is survived by her devoted cousins, Florence “Taci” Hunter, Marilyn d’Aquin, Dianne Catalano, Deacon Drea Capaci, Sidney Cahill, Michael Casebonne and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Carrie graduated from St. Matthias grammar school and was a proud graduate of St. Mary’s Dominican High School. She was a student of Edith Heslin Dance School where she was a lovely and talented dancer. Carrie was kind and gentle and very generous. She enjoyed cooking for her family and welcoming everyone into her home. She owned every kitchen tool and gadget ever made and loved all of her “kitchen helpers.” She will be missed and cherished by all who knew her.
Visitation will be at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government Street, Friday, April 13, 2018, at 10:00 am until religious services at 12 noon. Entombment will follow in St. George Mausoleum.
