Robert E. “Buck” Duncan, age 85, of Meadville, died Thursday, April 19, 2018, at his home.

Robert Edwin, son of Stanley and Dorothy (Selleck) Duncan, was born May 19, 1932. On September 18, 1954, he married Katherine Jane Sights.

Robert was a 1950 graduate of Meadville R-IV High School and a United States Army Veteran, serving with the 7th Infantry Division as a Corporal in the Army during the Korean War. He worked for North Missouri Lumber Company for 30 years. He was also a bus driver for many years for the Meadville R-IV School District and worked for the Linn-Livingston Public Water Supply District #3.

He was a member of the William-DeMoss American Legion Post #517 for over 60 years, and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Meadville.

Survivors include his wife, Katie, of the home; five children, Donna Zell, Gary (Angela) Duncan, Mike (Pam) Duncan, Barbara (David) Zell, and Brenda (Dick) Tharp; one sister-in-law, Dottie Duncan; one brother-in-law, Harold “Skipper” Ready; thirteen grandchildren, Nick (Allison) Walton, Nate Tharp, Marc (Brooke) Zell, Amanda (Chris) Graham, Thomas Duncan, Rainbeau Tharp, Haylee (Brett) Ponting, Brittanye (Ryan) Wilson, Jennifer Zell (Blake Peters), Rebecca (Logan) Yount, Katrin Tharp, Tierann Zell and Duncan Tharp; ten great-grandchildren, Breken, Bryden, & Braxten Zell, Avonlea & Aria Walton, Grady & Reagan Graham, Kenzlee, Harper, & Tatum Ponting; two step grandchildren, Eric (Nakai) Metsinger and Alyssa Taylor; four step great-grandchildren, Cooper & Trevor Metsinger and Braden & Lucas Taylor; and several nieces and nephews.

His parents, two brothers Charles and Everett Duncan, two sisters Thelma Ready and Wilma “Corky” Paradise, son-in-law Stanley Zell, and grandson Grady Michael Duncan preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, April 24, 2018, at 10:30 a.m. at the Meadville First Baptist Church, with Pastor Kim Smith officiating. Burial will be in Botts Cemetery north of Meadville. Visitation will be Monday, April 23, 2018, beginning at 1:00 p.m. and the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 in the evening at Wright Funeral Home, Brookfield.
