Services are Friday at 1 pm at Chavers Funeral Home with burial in Chavers Cemetery.

She was the granddaughter of Mr and Mrs John Chavers Sr of Mt Pleasant.

A Memorial service will be held today for Adele Tyree-Wells, a former health reporter for WISP, Channel 10. The service is scheduled for 1 pm at St Lawrence Catholic Church in Tampa.

Tyre-Wells died Nov 12 in Reno, NV of cancer. She was 37.

Tyre-Wells lived and worked in the Tamp Bay area for 10 years, reporting for Channel 10 for several years. She worked for WXFL, Channel 8, from January 1986 to Nov 1987. She also had worked in St Louis, Salt Lake City, and Cedar Rapids, IA.

Her work as a television reporter won her an Emmy in 1981 for her weekly news program called "Turnabout." The segment that won the Emmy for the show was an interview with poet Mya Angelou. Tyre-wells co-wrote, produced, and directed the program.

Born in Tacoma WA, Tyre-Wells had lived in Reno NV for the past year. She is survived by her husband, Don Wells; two children: Aaron and Christine; her mother Phyllis Lewis of Seattle; stepparents Ira and Faye Chavers Harrison, both of Cleveland; grandparents; great-grandparents; and several other relatives.
