DEATH OF MRS. DAVIS.
Died on Anniversary of Her Husband's Death Twenty-Four Years Ago - Funeral Probably Monday.
Mrs. Eva Davis, widow of the late J. M. Davis, died suddenly of heart failure yesterday on the twenty-fourth anniversary of her husband's death.
She was in her usual good health yesterday and discussed in full some business affairs she wanted her son Jonathan to attend to at Uniontown today. He left for that place to transact the business and while there received the shocking news of her sudden death. She was stricken about 12:30 and died instantly. Word was sent to her son and daughter living in Los Angeles, Calif., Joe Davis and Mrs. Belle D. Russell. They are now on their way here to attend the funeral which will probably be held Monday if they arrive in time. She is also survived by a son, Caldwell Davis, residing at Bronson beside Jonathan who has always remained on the home farm, ten miles north of Bronson.
Mrs. Davis died on the farm she had lived on for over fifty years, she and her husband having located there on the last day of December 1867. She was born near Monmouth in Warren county, Ill. January 29, 1843, making her in her 75th year of age.
Besides the children mentioned she is survived by several grand children, two brothers Adam Holeman of La Harpe and Ezra Holeman of Bronson and a sister Mrs. Hattie, Neal, widow of the late Welton Neal of Lewis, Kas.
