Edward Erle Bowling, age 86 of Winchester, passed away on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at the Willows of Winchester. Mr. Bowling was born on November 28, 1931 in Franklin County, Tennessee to the late Samuel Edward and Lila Grant Bowling. Following graduation in 1949, he enlisted in the United States Army where he served during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Bowling started working for Armstrong and later retired from Shaw Industries. In his spare time, he enjoyed traveling anywhere, especially to Gulf Shores with Christine; during late August, you would find him at the Celebration. Mr. Bowling was a faithful member of the Winchester First United Methodist Church and the Winchester Masonic Lodge, where he was a 32nd Degree Master Mason. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Christine Bowling and brother, Samuel Bowling. Mr. Bowling is survived by his daughter, Christy Bowling of Cookeville; sister, Faye (Joe) Carter of Winchester and several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Visitation will be held from 4-8 pm on Wednesday at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 3:00 pm on Thursday, May 3, 2018 in the Moore-Cortner Chapel with Rev.
