Miss Rebecca Sharp was a daughter of Margaret Armstrong Stevenson and her second husband, Moses Sharp. She had a brother, William Sharp who died young. Rebecca Sharp was locally well known for herbalist and homeopathic medical cures. She was renowned for developing "Becky Sharp's Plaster" a medical application for cuts and such injuries which seemed to reduce infections. Generations of her kin used that remedy, down to at least the 1990s.
