Julius V. Abate was born on February 14, 1932 in Fresno, California and passed away on May 8, 2018 at the age of 86.

A lifelong resident of Fresno, Mr. Abate served our country faithfully in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. Prior to his retirement, he was a heavy equipment operator for CalTrans for over 30 years.

Mr. Abate is preceded in death by his parents Vincent and Concetta Abate.

Julius is will be missed by his devoted wife, Corinne Abate of nearly 62 years; his children Deborah Abate of Folsom and David Abate and his wife Julie of Fresno; a brother, Joseph Abate; his grandchildren Brandon Ortega, Nicole Abate, Marcus Sanfilippo, Marissa Sanfilippo and Mitchell Sanfilippo and his beloved great grandchildren Octavian Ortega, Emma Ortega, Liliana Ortega and Marcus Ortega.

Visitation will be held at Chapel of the Light Funeral Home on Thursday, May 10, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

A graveside service will be held at St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery on Friday, May 11, 2018 at 11:00 a.m.
