Dominic J. Abate a life long resident of Fresno passed away at home after a long illness. He was born to Vincentzo and Concetti Abate. H
e married Mary Casey Abate, his beloved wife of 38 years who preceded him in death.
Dominic was in World War II serving in the U.S. Army as a paratrooper seeing action in Tunisia and European Campaigns.
After the war Dominic drove trucks until his retirement in 1990, he passed his time by collecting toy trains and working on cars.
We would like to give a very special thanks to the nursing staff of Optimal Hospice Care for all the care that was given to our father during his last days.
Dominic is survived by daughters, Kathleen Abate- Confer, Marrianne Aaronian and her husband Greg; grandsons, Dominic Abate and his wife Cindy, and Greg M. Aaronian; greatgrandchildren, Gregory, Ryann Ashley and Christian; brothers, Joe and Julius Abate all of Fresno, Ca.
Visitation will be held at Lisle Funeral Home on Thursday, February 12, 2009, from 10:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.
A Funeral Service will be held at Lisle Calaveras Chapel on Friday, February 13, 2009, at 11:00 a.m.
Interment to follow at St. Peters Cemetery.
