Edilene was born in Lampasas, Texas January 1, 1922 to Edward Napier and Lillie Ola Yazell Napier. The family had 5 children; Edith Grelle (Deceased), Louise Cotton, (Deceased) Edilene, Darby Napier (Deceased), Ida Jean Simcox of Texarkana.
Edilene was raised in Lampasa, Texas and meet Francis Melvin “Shorty” Allison while working at a diner. They were married when she was 19 years old in Brownwood, Texas, April 9 1941. Keith Allison was born in Coleman ,Texas. Edilene and Keith lived with her sister Louise Cotton while their husbands served in World War II.

After the war, they moved to Brownwood, Texas, where Shorty worked as a salesman for Sunshine Biscuit. Cherri Allison Hicks Wallace was born during that time. They were transferred in 1956 to San Antonio, where they lived and raised their family. While living in San Antonio, Eddie worked at a children’s dress shop, Rhodes department store, and Federal Reserve Bank. She spent numerous hours caring for her grandchildren and developing many life long friends. Shorty passed away January 28, 1989.


She married a long time family friend, Arthur “Herbert” Lamkin, July1, 1989, in Vail, Colorado. The children had been friends since childhood. Herbert was Cherri’s godfather.
Herbert and Eddie traveled during their retirement, played games, and walked with their many friends. They were also active at Wayside Chapel with Older Wiser Loving Saints (OWLS). Every Friday they folded bulletins for the Sunday service.

Following Herbert’s passing, Eddie resided at Senior Haven Assisted Living where she was well cared for the remainder of her life.
