Born Feb. 2, 1922, in Catawba County, he was a son of the late David Johnson and Minnie Pearl Sigmon Killian.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and retired from Carolina Mills after 35 years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Frank Killian and John Killian; and two sisters, Mary Lowman and Mildred Killian.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Hoppie M. Killian of the home; two sons, David "Jap" Killian and wife, Linda, of Newton and Kenneth Killian and wife, Becky, of Maiden; two daughters, Mollie Hefner and husband, Jimmy, of Maiden and Cherrie Crede and husband, Kenneth, of Newton; a sister, Evelyn Hefner of Maiden; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held today, Sunday, March 6, 2005, at 3 p.m. at Mays Chapel United Methodist Church in Maiden, with the Rev. Ralph Lepley officiating.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends today, Sunday, from 1:30 to 2:45 p.m. at Mays Chapel United Methodist Church prior to the service.
