• NEWPORT -- Graveside services for Ollie Green Snow, 90, Lone Grove, were at 11 a.m. today at Newport Cemetery with the Rev. W.S. McMurtrey officiating.
Mrs. Snow was born Aug. 25, 1911, at Stobtown to Robert E. and Noga Hattensty Green. She died March 18, 2002, at the Ardmore hospital.
Raised on Indian allotment land allocated to her grandmother, she graduated from the Chilocco Indian School in 1934 and worked at the hospital in Shawnee. She married Jim Snow Sr. on March 28, 1935, in Shawnee and they lived in St. Louis and several other towns before returning to Stobtown in 1942. She had been a member of Lone Grove Order of Eastern Star Lodge 484 for 60 years, receiving her 50-year pin in 1992.
She was preceded in death by her husband on Dec. 31, 1979; a brother, Orville Green, in 1951; a half brother, Al Green; two half sisters, Emma Busey and Grace Ragsdale; and a granddaughter.
Survivors include a daughter, Thelma Carnathan, Broken Bow; two sons, Gene, and Jim, both of Lone Grove; and four grandchildren.
Honorary bearers will be sons and grandsons.
