Ruby Joyce Wagoner was born on June 26, 1939 to Louie Thomas and Wanda Willie Parks Wagoner in Coolidge, Arizona. Ruby had two brothers, Robert Dale Wagoner and Donald Joseph Wagoner, and one sister, Delores Elaine. She married Clarence Maon Wells in 1954. From this union was born Joyce Elaine Wells on April 28, 1955. One of the biggest tragedies of Ruby's life was when she became a widow with an infant in January, 1956. Clarence was on his way to have the brakes fixed on his automobile when the brakes failed and he hit a train; he was killed instantly.
Ruby met Bobby Britton McCormick on April 28, 1956 at a local park when celebrating her daughter's first birthday. They were engaged for a very, very long time--two weeks, and was married on May 13, 1956 in Yuma, Arizona. From this union came another daughter, Sherry Kay in 1958, and two sons, David Wayne in 1959 and Steven Paul in 1964. Bobby and Ruby lived in Arizona, California, Idaho, Alaska, and Washington states. Ruby was a "nanny" for 15 years and retired in 1993. She was considered by the family to be the "Mary Poppins" type.
Ruby loved music and played the piano and organ by ear, never learning a note and could play just about anything after hearing it only once. She frequently played for her church when needed, filling in when they did not have anyone else.
Ruby loved people and had a great sense of humor. She could make just about anyone laugh. One day another caregiver came over to relieve me for a few hours, when I came back the relieving caregiver started to go out the door and turned back to tell me "Oh Honey, your mother is sooo sweet!!" After she left my mother looked at me and said, "How does she know--she has never tasted me!!
Ruby loved spending time with family and friends.
Ruby is survived by her husband, Bobby of 54 years, a sister, Delores E. Freed, her four children, Joyce E. Moser, Bear Lake, MN, Sherry K. McCormick, Randle, Washington, David W. McCormick, Napavine, Washington, and Steven P. McCormick, Ft. Worth, TX, seventeen grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
Ruby passed away on December 5th, 2010 from complications of a recent illness.
A memorial service was held on December 11, 2010 at the Randle Church of the Nazarene, Randle, Washington.

God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be. So he put his arms around you & whispered come with me. With tearful eyes and in my arms I watched you pass away. Although I loved you dearly I could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands at rest. God broke my heart to prove to me, He only takes the best.
