Billie Strain Gabbert, 86, passed away on Thursday, June 21st 2018, at Hermitage Care and Rehabilitation Center in Owensboro, Kentucky. She was born July, 15th, 1931 in Muhlenberg County, KY to Oscar Lewis Strain and Fannie B Cessna Strain. She married Maxwell Lee Gabbert July 3rd of 1950. Together they ran several local restaurants including Westlight restaurant. Billie also worked at Owensboro Daviess Co. hospital for many years, retiring in 1987. She loved camping, wintering in Florida with her late husband, playing cards, dominoes, and especially bingo. She also enjoyed spending time with her family. She will be remembered for her short and petite stature, and her kind and giving heart.



She was met at the heavenly gates by her beloved husband Maxwell who passed away in 2016 and her 8 loving siblings.

She leaves behind three sons; Larry (Carol) of Spottsville, KY, Terry (Debbie) of Owensboro, Tim (Cheryl) of Owensboro, and her daughter Lisa Phillips (Robbie) of Philpot. She had 10 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren, who loved her dearly.

Services will be 12 p.m. Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will immediately follow at Owensboro Memorial Gardens.
