Barbara Minton Gasser Leonard, 90, of Cabot, PA, formerly of Ford City, PA, passed away Thursday, June 28, 2018 at Good Samaritan Hospice in Cabot.
She was born January 18, 1928 in Crystal City, MO, the daughter of Gerald Z. and Martha (Gillespie) Minton.
Barbara spent her younger years in Natrona Heights before moving to Ford City in 1973. For 30 years she worked as a medical technologist at Allegheny Valley Hospital. Barbara was an avid golfer and especially loved golfing with her husband. She belonged to Lenape Heights Golf Club and was a member of Appleby Manor Presbyterian Church.
Besides golf, her favorite pastimes were swimming, gardening and playing in her Bridge Club. Barbara also had a great love of dogs. Above all, she cherished time spent with her family and will be best remembered for her deep love for them.
Her memory will be cherished by her daughter, Patricia A. Jurkiewicz, of New Wilmington; step-son, Robert F. Leonard and wife, Anita, of Leechburg; grandchildren, Jonathan Jurkiewicz, of New Wilmington, and Mario Leonard, of Leechburg; and son-in-law, Leonard Wojton, Jr., of New Jersey.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, Arnold W. Leonard, whom she married June 1, 1973 and who died December 26, 2004; step-daughter, Elizabeth A. Wojton, who died June 14, 2008; and infant brother, Robert Minton.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Sunday, July 1, 2018 at Bauer Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 515 N. McKean Street, Kittanning, PA.
Additional visitation will be from 10 AM until the time of funeral services at 11 AM on Monday, July 2, 2018 at the funeral home, with the Rev. Marty Neal officiating.
Interment will be in Lawn Haven Burial Estates, Worthington, PA.
