From the Mountain Home (Idaho) Republican, 1 Jul 1937:
Two Travelers Killed In Wreck Near Pine.

Two men were killed sometime Wednesday night or early Thursday morning (this would have been either 30 Jun or 1 Jul, or perhaps the week before) when their car rolled off the grade on Chattin Hill, 48 miles north of Mountain Home, or two miles this side of Pine.

W. J. Curriden and William Curriden, father and son from Kansas City(sic), the occupants of the car were brought in to Zacher's Undertaking parlor by coroner P. F. Green and Sheriff George Hendricks, who went to the scene of the accident. The father appeared to have lived a little longer than the son.

A coroner's inquest will be held at five o'clock this afternoon.

From the appearance at the wreck it looks like the car, a La Salle, struck a rock and 60 feet farther on, left the highway, landing with a tree sticking through the top of the car, practically demolishing it.

The father, W. J. Curriden, was driving, his body had partly fallen out of the car, with one foot hanging in the door. The son was found doubled up in the seat with the overturned car on top.

The men had been in Mountain Home Wednesday transacting legal matters with Attorney Gene Adnerson, and drove to Idaho City, after leaving here, placing the time of the accident sometime between dark Wednesday night and Thursday morning at eight o'clock, when the wreck was discovered by Harry Hidelston and son, Boise, who were engaged in hauling mining timbers out of the hills to Mountain Home.
