Mary Jeanette (often seen as Janetta) Foltz was the third of four known children of Edward Foltz (1818-1884) and Lucinda Sides (1820-1864),. who married 02 Oct 1840 at Stokes (now Forsyth) County, North Carolina.
Mary married James Madison Fishel (1845-1928) in c1871 in presumably North Carolina though a marriage license can't be located for them. In 1900 Mary said she was the mother of five, none living. Thus all of Mary's children may have died in childhood or perhaps there was a mistake made by the census taker.
