She spent the last of her time with us in the care of the dedicated and patient staff of Speret Hall at Lanfair (Lancaster) surrounded by her loving family.
While Dollie worked for many years as a teller and head bookkeeper for the then River Valley National bank in Vienna, WV, her true passion was being a homemaker.
Gardening and sewing gave her creative enjoyment and she was always happy to add more plates at the dinner table as family visited. There was always a home baked pie or cake ready to share with family or friends over a cup of coffee.
She was born in Calhoun County, West Virginia in 1922 and settled into the Parkersburg area where she and Dusty began their married life.
Though the couple lived in several Eastern states through Dusty’s work, they always returned to their home in Vienna. Dollie and Dusty moved to Lancaster, Ohio in 2010 to be closer to their daughter, Jan, and husband, Bill Locascio.
While she will be missed by her family and those who cared for her, she will be remembered as a model of faith, strength and resourcefulness and for the love and blessings she shared with all.
Dollie was preceded in death by husband, Lawrence “Dusty” Mason, son, Stephen H. Mason, sister, Irma (Opherd) Hathaway, brother, Ralph (Irena) Conley, brother, Jean (Pauline) Conley, and sister, Hope (Dick) Mason. Surviving are daughter, Jan (Bill) Locascio (Lancaster, Ohio), daughter-in-law, Mary Hill Mason (Luling, Louisiana), granddaughters, Lauren (Shane) Hilyard (Lancaster), Sarah (Joshua) Sollee, currently of Scott AFB, grandsons Steven (Jeannie) Mason & Dan Mason of Houston, Rick and Alex Mason of Louisiana, and 7 great grandchildren.
