Gene Brammer, 78 of Greenup, KY went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 15, 2018 at Community Hospice Care Center, Ashland, KY. He was born September 25, 1939 in Lawrence County, Ohio , a son of the late Norman and Grace Ratliff Brammer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Keith F. Brammer; 2 sisters, Evelyn Long and Rose Stapleton; and one great grandchild, Jessie Jane Brammer. He was a purchasing manager for Rage Corporation and a pastor at various churches in the Ironton, Ohio area. His last pastorate was at LaGrange Freewill Baptist Church in Ironton. He also retired from Marquette Cement in Ironton, Ohio. He is survived by his wife, Leola Kay Arbaugh Brammer; one son, Michael (Deborah) Brammer of Columbus, Ohio; one daughter, Lisa (Melvin) McDaniels of Greenup, KY; nine grandchildren, Austin Brammer, Ayden Brammer, Andrea Povlak, Amber Ochsenbein, Alyssa McDaniels, Kayla Blevins, Dylan Blevins, Hannah Brammer and Wyatt Brammer; and several great grandchildren. Funeral service will be conducted by Pastor Roy Roach and Bob Chaffins Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at 12:00 pm at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point, Ohio. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Burlington, Ohio. Friends may call from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm at the funeral home. Condolences to the family may be expressed at www.slackandwallace.com.
