A. C. Barnes December 13, 1926 – July 17, 2018
A. C. Barnes, 91, of Hartford, Arkansas passed away Tuesday, July 17, 2018 in his home. He was a devoted father, husband, grandfather and Christian. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Hartford, a WWII Army veteran and a 50 plus years member of Laborers Local # 107. He was preceded in death by his wife, Retha Barnes; son, Alfred Carol Barnes; parents, Clyde and Eurina Barnes; two granddaughters, Louise and Tayler Barnes and three brothers.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 19 at First Baptist Church in Hartford with interment at Monroe Cemetery in Monroe, Oklahoma under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home in Greenwood. Viewing will be Wednesday from 2-8 p.m. at the funeral home, where the family will visit with friends from 5-7 p.m.

A.C. is survived by one son, Dale Barnes of Hartford; three daughters, Sharon White of Greenwood, Saundra Harris and Shirley Callahan both of Hartford; two brothers, Clarence Barnes of Wichita and Dean Barnes of Hartford; three sisters, Florence Sealey of Mansfield, Juanita Buckman of Plainview and Edith Burrows of Mansfield; eight grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons and honorary pallbearers will be his great grandsons.
