Mr. Dennis Addison was born in Allendale, South Carolina on June 19, 1947. He was the son of the late Thelma Addison Hightower. He entered into eternal rest on Monday, August 21, 2017 at Providence Hospital in Columbia, South Carolina. Dennis was educated in Allendale County public schools. At an early age he joined Mt. Hope Baptist Church and was later baptized. He was employed with Allendale County Schools and various manufacturing companies. He was a very fashionable man and often dressed up and wore nice hats. Dennis had a love for landscaping and he enjoyed working in his yard and cutting grass.
He was preceded in death by his mother and stepmother, Rose Addison; two brothers: Moses Hightower and William Hightower.
Dennis leaves to cherish his fond memories, his four sons: Reverend Michael (Rev. Tracey) O’Neal of Aiken, SC, Tito Williams of Tampa, FL, Alex (Lisa) Addison of Lemoore, CA and Matthew Hay of Jacksonville, FL; four daughters: Denice (Ricardo) Hallman, Tierra Addison, and Erika Williams all of Columbia, and Shelia Ingram of Lexington, SC; four sisters: Gussie (Harry) Bynum of Allendale, SC, Susie Broomfield, Shirley Myers and Darnelll Addison all of Martin, SC; six brothers: James Hightower and Luther Hightower both of Allendale, SC, Wayne Hightower of Hampton, SC, George Hightower of Columbia, SC, Trenton Gadson of Charlotte, NC and Curtis Addison of Martin, SC; two sisters-in-law: Louise Hightower and Patricia Hightower; 11 grandchildren; one great grandchild; and a host of other loving relatives and caring friends.
Friends may call at the residence of his sister Ernestine (Susie) Broomfield at 575 Washington Badger Road, Martin, or at the funeral home.
Visitation will be held Friday, August 25, 2017 from 1-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
